Just a Thought by Zeina Mokaddam

  February 2011

Dear Students,

2011 seems to be all about numbers!! Not only is it a year that has

interesting numerical combinations embedded in it, such as the year

starting with 1/1/11 then 11/1/11 then 11/11/11 then 20/11/2011, but it is also

a year that marks significant milestones to many people around the

world, and especially to us, living in Kuwait.

50 years of Independence, 20 years since liberation, 5 years since

the crowning of our Emir, His Highness Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-

Sabah; indeed it is a year full of celebrations, celebrations of all past

achievements and all great things to come.

And for STUDENTALK, 2011 is a great celebration as well as a new

revelation.

10 years back, when the 1st issue of STUDENTALK came out, I was so

happy and proud of my achievement. Why? Because that issue was

different in its concept, in its content and in its feel; it was indeed a pioneering issue.

Today, 10 years later, I sat with my team, my friends and colleagues and asked them

to all brainstorm with me on how we can create an issue that would be so different it

would make me proud 10 years from now.

And here it is!! A 3D STUDENTALK!!!

Just put on your glasses and embark with us on our journey into a new dimension.

2011 is indeed a year of revelation, of renewed energy and belief that when one puts his

mind into being a pioneer in something, he can maintain that position even for decades

to come.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank my friend Mr. Ali Sultan who came up with

the 3D concept, PH7 team for executing it, and VIVA for making it possible.

My students, use the energy of 2011 to your benefit. Set your minds on achievements,

and enjoy looking back at your milestones while always planning for greater things to

come.

HAPPY CELEBRATIONS,

LET’S ALL REJOICE

Till next issue,
