Dear Students,

My colleague came to my office the other day and asked me to write my next letter from the editor about “freedom of choice” When I asked her why, she said “they want to take away our freedom to choose”
I said “who? How can they? Ever!!?”
She said: “In their pursuit of utopia, where everyone is virtuous, they want to enforce that which we did not choose!” I said: “But that defies the Divine!! If our Creator wanted us to live in utopia, would He not made it so!?” She looked at me in silence, so I continued asking “Do you not know what differentiate humans from other beings?” “What?” she wondered
“Our freedom of choice!! If our Creator wanted us all equal in our virtue, would He not have created us as such!? If our Creator wanted us living in utopia, why would He have created hell!? If our Creator wanted us to simply follow rules and not question, would He not have made us all angels!? But we have been created humans! And the only real differentiation between us and other beings is the fact that we can choose, so how can anyone deny you that choice!!?” Listening to all this, she paused..then regaining her thoughts, she said:”others have denied their women the choice. Others have covered them, even covered their eyes..while degrading them..denying them education..raping them!”
Smiling with knowing sadness: “So is the way of men..but pray do tell..when did the cover stop people from making their choices?! You see the good, the bad and the ugly in every society, in every country, in every religion and every sect. Cover or not covered. It is all about the choices we make. And we will always have the freedom to choose, that is what our Creator granted us when he made us human, and that, my dear colleague, is what no other human being will ever be able to take away from us.” So my students, I have decided, I shall not talk to you about the freedom of choice, it would be a waste of both our times, for we all know, you will always be..FREE TO CHOOSE, May you always chose growth, advancement, and furthering your knowledge.

Just remember, if our Creator wanted, He would have created us all from one religion, one sect. but He created us different. 7 billion of us, and still not two are the same. So we may meet. So we may interact. So we may learn. So we may evolve. Cover or no cover, Deeds will always be judged based on intentions. May you always have the BEST of intentions,
